Our Desk Safari Pics

Do you ever find yourself bored of an afternoon? Or catch yourself staring out of the window at the drab British weather and wish you were anywhere but here? Then perhaps you’ll enjoy the phenomenon that is Desk Safari! The craze was born out of bored office workers taking comical photos of colleagues that appeared to combine their heads with the bodies of tropical animals.

It’s a ridiculously fun way to waste some time that is sure to bring hilarity to all those who take part. Once I heard that there was a competition over at theimum.com  I knew I had to have a go, aided not by pictures of animals I found on Google but my obliging (read bribed with treats) pets. In fact we had so much fun that I have a few Desk Safari pics, I’ll start with my personal favourite that sees my pet Dalmatian combined with our resident Crow!

dogcrow

It’s no mean feat lining up a Dalmatian to take a comical photograph so I’m quite proud of this one. In fact getting the photo of a fast flying crow was rather difficult too!

Next we flipped the traditional desk safari pictures on their head by combining my dogs head with my daughters body!

Makes me giggle everytime I look at it!

Finally I thought I better have a go and combined myself with Mr Dog.

We had so much fun taking these pictures but it’s surprisingly hard to line yourself up perfectly 🙂 Especially when you have a photobombing dog roaming around who just loves to make you laugh mid take, see this blooper photo!dogphotobomb

Serenata Flowers Review and Giveaway

Spring is in the air and with Mother’s Day fast approaching it’s perfect timing for today’s Serenata Flowers review and giveaway!

Flowers are beautiful in all shapes and sizes and there’s no denying that they can inject colour and joy into a room just by their presence. However buying a large and beautifully arranged bouquet can cost a pretty penny, especially if you purchase from one of the large well known florists. Serenata Flowers offers courier delivery of large bouquets which cut out the middleman thereby saving you money, but can it really deliver the same standards of service and quality?Ianthe

I asked Serenata to send me the brand new Ianthe Bouquet. Ianthe means purple flower and this bouquet is awash with them, accented by pure white roses.

The flowers were dispatched the same day and arrived promptly the next in a large cardboard box, supported by a stake to keep them upright.IMG_6868

Presentation

The bouquet was a hand-tied arrangement which meant there was no presenting skills required, I simply had to cut the stems and place them into a vase. Did they look like the online photo?IMG_6876

Bearing in mind the angle I took this photo from missed out a couple of the roses I think they were very close to the online picture. My particular vase also splayed the bouquet further outwards creating a slightly different shape.IMG_6880

Longevity

Cut flowers unfortunately never last long, however when you’re spending out considerable money I think it’s safe to assume we’d all like at least one weeks enjoyment from our bouquets. Here is my Ianthe bouquet on day 8.IMG_6890Hardly any noticeable difference to when they arrived!

In total I got over two weeks enjoyment from my flowers. The roses were the first to die away but it all lasted very well indeed.

Would I recommend the Ianthe bouquet and Serenata Flowers?

Definitely! I’ve been disappointed by other florists in the past but I thoroughly enjoyed my flowers from Serenata, delivery was swift, the flowers beautiful and they lasted and lasted.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 Review and Competition!

Today I’m sharing our review of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, along with a fabulous opportunity to win one of two copies of the DVD for your own family to enjoy!CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 CDRB1397UV_3D UV STICKER

Inventor Flint Lockwood thought he saved the world when he destroyed his most infamous invention — a machine that turned water into food, causing cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes. However, he soon learns that his invention survived and is now creating food-animals, or “foodimals!”  Now, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission to battle hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other foodimals to save the world – again! Cloudy 6

As a family we all loved the original Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and I was apprehensive that a sequel might not live up to it’s predecessor, however this film is easily as amusing if not more so! It’s definitely a film that adults will chuckle along too as well as the kids. Cloudy 7

The foodimals are ridiculously cute and my kids cannot stop quoting the Strawberry who says ‘En-Woo!’ repeatedly. I really can’t recommend it enough especially without giving away the plot, but if you don’t pick up a copy soon you really are missing out!
