Win tickets to Sewing for Pleasure, Hobbycrafts and Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch!!

Between 22-25th March, Birmingham NEC will once again play host to three wonderful creative shows.

Sewing for Pleasure features more than 150 stalls filled to bursting with irresistible products, inspiring displays and expert advice.

Fresh from filming ‘Kirstie’s Handmade Britain’ Jamie Chalmers (aka Mr X Stitch) will be featuring up and coming trends to the world of embroidery and needlecraft.

For those interested in ‘Make Do and Mend’ a visit to the Sewing Hub is a must. Experts are on hand to give valuable advice and practical workshops.

After all that you can pop into the second show Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch where you can enjoy free catwalk shows throughout the day.

If like me you love everything costume and period drama then you’ll adore the stunning displays of costumes from Downton Abbey. Not to mention the Austen inspired quilt collections or Poetry in Stitches 3.

Finally a trip across to Hobbycraft where you can indulge in workshops covering everything from beadwork, jewellery making, stamping, card making, embossing, pyrography and papercraft.

To top it all you can even visit for free if you are one of the 5 lucky winners of our latest competition.

We have 5 pairs of tickets which gives you access to all three shows to giveaway.

Kit Kat Chunky Champion

If you’ve been watching TV recently then no doubt you’ll have seen the adverts for the current Kit Kat Chunky Champion Contest.

In a nutshell, Nestle have released four brand new flavours and they want you to tell them which flavour should survive and become a permanent addition to the Kit Kat range.

If the promise of eating four chocolate bars isn’t enough, Kit Kat are also giving everyone who casts a vote the chance to win £100 in their daily competitions.

Never one to turn down a chocolate related challenge, my family and I endeavoured to test out all four flavours and give you our (not particularly expert) opinions. 🙂

The new flavours are:

White Chocolate

Peanut Butter

Double Chocolate

Chocolate Orange

In a very scientific test we came to the conclusion that:

White Chocolate – this bar has everything that’s good about a standard Kit Kat Chunky in a white chocolate shell. It’s not profound, but it’s still very good.

Peanut Butter – one word for this bar….. wonderful! We have a shameful lack of peanut butter and chocolate sweets in this country, which are finally remeded by this yummy and moreish new Kit Kat.

Double Chocolate – it promises so much but fails to deliver. It simply tastes like a normal Kit Kat chunky with a bit more chocolate, it offers nothing particularly new.

Chocolate Orange – the flavour I was prepared to dislike, it was actually a surprisingly delicious variant. I found it hard to fault and any fan of Chocolate Orange flavours will be satisfied here.

So if you hadn’t already guessed, our votes go for the Kit Kat Peanut Butter Chunky!!

If we had to pick a runner up it would be Chocolate Orange, followed by White Chocolate. Double Chocolate comes in a sad fourth place 🙁

I really do enjoy promotions such as this one, the idea to give input on new flavours is always very appealing. Plus it’s a good way to spend a Saturday morning munching on yummy snacks 🙂
